OPINIONS ON HOW TO OPTIMIZE MY REAL ESTATE WEB SITE......EVERYBODY HAS ONE!

By

I am constantly amazed at all the different opinions I get about how to build a great website and how to go about optimizing it  Opinions....everybody has one!  I don't know who to believe or listen to. One day I read or hear about one way to do all this and then the next day I read or hear about another way todoit. WHO TO BELIEVE! That is the question. Maybe there is no right or wrong way. It's what works for you at the time.

Have any of you run into the same thing in getting a website out into cyber space? It's a recipe,a little of this...a little of that.Hopefully the end result is the right one. I wounder if I am the only one who is confused.Should I pay per click?  Shold I pay a company (not cheap)  to submit my site pages to the search engines?  Where are they anyway? These search engines we hear about are to me like aliens! Somewhwre out there in space they are all watching us 24/7 waiting for the RIGHT SITE TO CHECK OUT and elevate it to the #1 position. OMG...I hope it's mine  www.patricia4realestate.com

In the final analysis it's how many live pulse beats we bring to the closing table that matters right$

#6 on Google for "Hampton New Hampshire Real Estate"

#16 on Yahoo for "Hampton New Hampshire Real Estate"

#15 on MSN for "Hampton New Hampshire Real Estate"

You seem to be doing quite well, first page on Google, Page 2 on Yahoo and MSN.  I'd say keep up what you're doing.

I am seriously jealous of those rankings.  I have been working hard on trying to understand the ranking game.  It honestly seems like a struggle and I am in the midst of fierce competition.  Just yesterday I was #9 for one of my main cities on Yahoo and today I am on page 2 at #12.

I have only improved my page in that day lol!  But search engines are a combination of a lot of things. I personally have tried the strategy of doing all the elements.  I see people go after links almost exclusively.  The do this to the point of decimating their website but they are #1.  However, I can't even stand looking at their site at all.

My goal is good optimization (still learning), good content, and slowly build quality links.  My website is very important to my business plan and I am working hard to position it for the slower seasons.

Good luck!

You're right Patricia, there are alot of opinions as to what works best and at times they can confuse the hell out of you. As John points out, you're obviously doing things right. Nicely done.

There needs to be a balance between total content and quality content. Having a hundred pages of information and links is great for getting people to your site but it's the quality of the content that will generate business for you. An example might be that of listing presentations. You might be able to secure many presentations and if your not professional, giving the client what they want/need and demonstrating why you are the right choice then the listing will go to someone else.

If it wasn't such a challenge would it be this much fun?

Definitely you OBVIOUSLY know what you're doing (or have a great webmaster who does)  Those are great rankings - you should be celebrating, not being confused!

Keep rakin' in the dough!

Those are great rankings!  I'm showing up at the top on Google and Yahoo but only because of my active rain account.  I have a nice website but I need to get my webdesigner to work on getting it to show up!

Congrats!
