Huntsville May Summary and Current Market Conditions

WOW is all I can say!! It seems like just yesterday I was posting a farewell to April and giving a big hello to May. Now May has come and gone and we are into June. This year really seems to be rolling right by rather quickly. Nonetheless, its that time again.
Here we are ready to recap our Huntsville statistics for the month of May as of today June 7, 2007. I am very excited to report that there were 291 homes sold in Huntsville during May!!! There are some parts of the country that are really experiencing sluggish market conditions right now but Huntsville has kept a steady pace.
The sold homes of Huntsville can be broken down into the following areas:
- Northwest Huntsville: 70 sold homes
- Northeast Huntsville: 21 sold homes
- Southwest Huntsville: 88 sold homes
- Southeast Huntsville: 63 sold homes
- East Huntsville: 49 sold homes
There were 276 homes sold in Huntsville in May 2006 so the 291 homes sold during May 2007 shows the steady pace of our market. The average number of days on the market for Huntsville is currently 82 days. The average price of sold homes in Huntsville for May was $174,382 and the median price was $151,000.
I am excited as we prepare for another summer season in Huntsville. The Huntsville real estate market is very dynamic and it is being watched by observers across the country. I may be "a little" biased but I think we live in one of the best cities in the nation for a number of reasons and the current state of our real estate market is one of them.
