People Helping People

By
Real Estate Agent with The Dietz Team with Re/Max Realtec

We chose the slogan "People Helping People"  because we feel it is a good fit for what we do; help families in the Tampa Bay area purchase a new home or sell their existing home.  Too many buyers, sellers, and Realtors over-complicate the process when in reality, it simply comes down to a "back to basics" approach of  Real Estate professionals providing a professional service.  We are just People Helping People.

We also believe that we have a moral obligation and opportunity to help an overlooked, often  forgotten group of people in our community.  There are thousands of families in the Tampa Bay area  with children that are struggling to provide quality housing for there family and even for those who believe it's the adults fault because of bad choices he or she may have made, no case can be made for the children deserving this plot in life.  Imagine your children living on the street, cold, hungry and no one lifts a hand to help.  The Bible suggest (demands depending on your interpretation) that we tithe 10% of our income to the church.  I'd suggest we give at least part of that or all of it to families in need.  No family should be without a home!  I believe as a professional Realtor, I have an obligation to do something.  However small it may be, I'll commit for 2009,  $100 for every home The Dietz Team sells towards  helping a family in need;  find a home.  By the way, using 2008 sales statistics with 70 homes sold, this would be $7,000 towards giving a child a home.  The Dietz Team goal for 2009 is to sell 126 homes with $12,600 going towards providing homes for families in the Tampa Bay Area.

The above information was copied from a message I sent to my data base after starting my new team "The Dietz Team" in November of 2008.  Since then, we have sold over 60 homes and donated more than $6,000 towards Habitat For Humanity on pace to sell a 126 homes our first year and donate $12,600 towards Habitat For Humanity.  I know am bragging a little here but have you ever met a Realtor with out an ego.  Just kidding a wee bit on that last sentience.  My main goal here is raise a little awareness among my Real Estate Co-Professionals about a HUGE problem in our country.  Way too many children live in poverty, are homeless or live in dirty, deplorable conditions and go to bed hungry every night.

This has to stop and I will not turn my back or judge any longer.  I believe God is watching us and that what ever we do to the LEAST of his children, we do to him.

Please do something today!

LOL Hi John. I have actually worked with some cool realtors ® and one of them is from Keller Williams. She was on the listing side of a short sale. She was awesome. It was one of the best transactions that I have ever experienced. You bring up a very good point though... about helping children. It's great that you are donating a portion of your transactions to Habitat for Humanity in Pinellas. Few do.
