Brownstone Before and After; Thanks Klaussner Furniture for providing furnishing for us

Home Stager with Ready Set Stage

Hi all,

Well I finally found a furniture company that will work with me by providing furniture from their showroom.  Barbara Mann with Remax Realty Consultants called me and asked for my help on a Brownstone that she is listing.  It has been on the market for over a year with no interest.

This economy has been hard on everyone, and we needed to think outside the box to try to save money and help this builder show this home in a better light.  I approached Klaussner Home Furnishings and asked if they would be willing to provide furniture for the living room, dining room and bedroom, in return, when the home sells, the builder will buy a $2500 gift card to their store for the new owner to spend.  They agreed!!!  I went and picked out what I wanted and they delivered it.  They have a great selection of furniture and I hope this goes well for everyone and we can continue to work side by side in the future.

I also want to thank Budget Blinds for providing blinds at cost to put in the windows in the front of the house.  They look beautiful!  The builder has plans to build 6 more buildings and we will give out Budget Blinds name to all the new owners for their window treatment needs.

Here are the results

Thank you.  I just realized looking at the pictures that my 5 year old daughter put paper towels on the end of the dining room table and moved the wine glasses on top of it.  I didn't even see it until I looked at the pics.  Crazy.

Chrissie, great job and thanks for sharing the details of how you are working with the furniture company.  We only have one furniture dealer locally and so far they will not work with me as a stager, but they love to see me as a redesigner.  Having the RE agent agree to give a gift card is brilliant.  Guess I need to make another trip into that store to see if we can work something out.  LOVE IT!

(Funny about your daughter and her rearrangement....happens to all of us when we look back at our photos..(-:))

That's fantastic Klausner works with you.  Everything is beautiful!  Don't feel bad, I left a bag of chips on a chair in the one and only after photo I took of a Formal Living room, the doorbell rang and I laid it down.  Didn't notice it until after it was de-staged and had photos back home.

Chrissie ~ Hopefully it's the beginning of a mutually beneficial partnership between you and Klaussner.  Who owned all of the accessories that we there before?   (P.S.  That's too funny about your daughter.  I noticed the two wine glasses at the end of the dining table and was trying to figure out why they were there!)

What a GREAT idea using the giftcard!  Becuase the store KNOWS that a $2,500 gift card will lead to MORE furniture than that!  Ooooo, time to start making some phone calls. ;)

Chrissie, congrats on the furniture store deal!  Why aren't more business people open to creative solutions these days?!?!?  Love your work.

My daughter asked her dad to play Power Rangers with her at age four.  He thought she meant the super hero characters and went to the dress up box.  She pulled out the doll house and said, 'No Daddy--I said Power 'Rangers.  That's when you go in the house and 'range the furniture.'  (She is 18 now and headed to college in two weeks!)

Well done landing such a great deal. Yourself, the furniture company and builder have really come together. It takes some time to get something like this put together.  Congratulations on this business opportunity.

Also the place looks beautiful.

Hello Christie,

This is a wonderful photo story about an idea to enhance a property by staging it. It is interesting that the furniture store was cooperative on the idea of sharing it resources to accomplish a goal in another industry. It takes people who think out of the box and know how to stimulate that type of response. The idea provided a remarkable change over what was and the furniture store was forward thinking enough to see the potential of benefits to both the greater community and themselves. This is a clear example of creative entrepreneurial thinking on your part as well.

The setting up and decorating model homes by local home furnishing businesses is not uncommon. Taking it to the next level for a property for sale most assuredly is. Well done.

I founded the ActiveRain Photo Blogger Group a little over a week ago and I would invite you to join our group and to post this PhotoBlog for our group to enjoy and comment on.

I found your post through the re-blog efforts of Judi Barrett, one of my favorites here in the Rain.
