Step 2: Clean up with a pressure washer to increase curb appeal

When your working on the exterior of the home to increase curb appeal dont forget to scour the exterior and surroundings with a pressure washer. You can restore almost every outdoor surface to like-new condition with a pressure washer.  Pressure washers remove grime and build-up in a fraction of the time it takes to do the same work by hand.

Six areas of your home that can be improved upon are:

  • Driveways and sidewalks
  • Brick patios
  • Home siding and exteriors
  • Restoring wood decks
  • Fences
  • Garage floors

Gas powered pressure washers are best for all-purpose cleaning, because they are more powerful, versatile and effective then their electric-powered counterparts.  The size pressure washer you will need will depend on the size of the job.  As a general rule the higher the water pressure (PSI) and water flow (GPM) the faster and more effective the cleaning.

Pressuring washing is a great tool to clean up a home's exterior.  From personal experience:  avoid the electric powered pressure washers; they area waste of money.

For a one-time or infrequent job, rent a good quality one from Home Depot.
