The Kulshan Kiwanis Club's Bill Bond Memorial Golf Tournament has become a tradition in Bellingham. Golfers from around the Pacific Northwest and Lower British Columbia have participated in this event for several years. Kiwanians, and friends of Kiwanians, should mark Thursday, September 3, 2009 on the calendar. Come to the Kulshan breakfast meeting, 7:15AM at the Bellingham Golf and Country Club, then stay for the putting contest and the 9:30AM shotgun 18 hole tournament. Teams (four players) participating in this year's Bill Bond Memorial Golf Tournament must have at least two Kiwanis family members per team. Early-bird prices are in effect until August 20th or until twelve teams have registered. That early-bird rate is affordable -- only $244.00 per team. The Bellingham Golf and Country Club, the site for this year's event, is one of the most beautiful, prestigious and sought after golf courses in the Pacific Northwest. Don't miss a chance to play there. This event is designed for fun with the putting contest beginning at 8:30AM and lasting till tee off time. The tournament will be a best ball scramble. All players will hit at least 4 drives and 4 second shots. Entries will show club handicaps or average score for each player. Non-golfers may play and use a handicap of 40 max. Handicap will be 20% of the total. Gary Gallant, at Windermere Fairhaven, is the chair of this big event. If you own a business, affordable ($50.00) hole sponsorships are available too. I know that for sure, because King of the House Home Inspection has agreed to sponsor the first hole. You can get more information on this years tournament or sponsorship by calling Gary Gallant at 360-296-7271. Steven L. Smith Bellingham WA Home Inspections
