I found out from Jim Ruta, owner of Green Tree Garden Center, that I'm not alone. It's the wet summer at the Jersey Shore that's caused many a home gardener problems with their crops.

Green Tree even provides information from the Save the Barnegat Bay organization and Clean Ocean Action aimed at lessening the impact on the Barnegat Bay from excessive nitrogen. Nitrogen from fertilizer run off is causing big problems in the Bay, suffocating the eco system!
