Motivational Power Quote

See What's Around You

"Most people spend their

time looking

but not truly seeing."

Joe Navarro, former FBI agent

As I see it. . . . . . . .

See what's around you.

We spend our entire looking; for many things that can create happiness, success or a great relationships in our lives without finding them.

Before you can see what really you want; you have to understand what it is you want.

Create a defined vision in your mind of exactly what you want.

From your vision you'll see the things around you that you want and that are important to you.

The more you look the more you'll see what's a round you. You'll discover that all the things that are important to you are there for you to see.

So true.  Not to be sarcastic....in my "looking" I could not help but notice the missing word in your third sentence.  It says, "we spend our entire looking;  I think there is a missing word.  Not only do we need to see what is there, we need to see what is missing.  Would you agree?

I consider myself a wordsmith and usually read with a very critical eye, in terms of grammar and punctuation. In this case, I knew exactly what you meant and my mind supplied the missing word!

This is a timely post for me. I am participating in Bob Stewart's challenge to write about 7 local businesses within a certain timeframe and I am gaining far more than extra points. It has really encouraged me to see Jamestown, Tennessee with "new eyes," to carry my camera and to LOOK FOR opportunities to write about things that might have just gone unnoticed.

Lou, So many people chase rainbows before they can see what they really want; they move on chasing after the next rainbow...

Lou - I try to walk our properties and the neighborhoods we serve at least once per week.  It is amazing what you can and do see when you get out of the car.  More business has developed from casual conversations on these walks.

Boy is that the truth!  My husband lost his glasses a couple of days ago.  We looked everywhere... when he finally found them... to our surprise they were in plain view.  Boy did we laugh... it taugh us a lesson... interesting.

Lou,

You said it best, "Create a defined vision in your mind of exactly what you want."

If you don't know what you are looking for, you are not going to find it.

It's true, if you don't know what you're looking for, you can't find it. I think it's also important that this "thing" is realistic. Otherwise you spend your time looking for something that isn't real.
