Thank Goodness I Didn't Need to Show Property on Saturday!

What? You don't want to show property on a Saturday ... the Prime Time showing day? Are you... (fill in the blank with your favorite word for "unbalanced"!)?

Those were my exact thoughts last Saturday as I attempted to return home from an early breakfast meeting. Using every short cut I knew, it took me one and a half hours to drive a normal 25 minute ride! And I was eternally grateful that I didn't need to enter the island, meet Buyer's ,find parking spaces, apologize to cleaning crews and maneuver around our wonderful vacationers!

Saturday is Turn-Around Day in Ocean City, Maryland! This is the day that the majority of the vacationers end their week's vacation(sadly!) and another group begins their week's fun (happily!). And on any given summer week, we have approximately 300,000 people exiting the island and approximately 300,000 people entering our fabulous town! (Last week was also the White Marlin Tournament. I think we snuck in some extra visitors!) Bumper-to-bumper!

So please be patient with me when I say " what weekday are you available?"

I agree!  Sometimes even we need a day off.  I'm looking forward to next weekend, which is when we have the salmon derby.  Three whole days of just fishing with my husband and father in law!  I don't think some people realise that many of us go several weeks without an entire day off.

Kathy - Last Saturday was ridiculous.  The Rte 90 bridge was backed up at 9:30 in the morning till late at night. Glad I was only showing Ocean Pines.

My, I don't think our little town could hold 300,000 people... they would be stacked on top of each other!

600,000 turn-around every weekend? I think that would drive me nuts and make me stay home on Saturdays also!

Kathy:  I remember, as a kid vacationing with my family, those Saturday turnaround days.  Waiting in line at the real estate office to pick up the keys to the rental.  Much easier to drop off as I recall.

600,000 people. YIKES!  I wouldn't even go out the front door. I guess it's not feasible to show property on a bicycle...
