My own further investigation regarding pier costs has them priced at least $50,000, and up to $100,000 for more elaborate ones (that include a boat lift or electric swim platform). There are 8 licensed contractors on the water, and they are all pretty consistent in pricing. Buyers should know that prior to purchasing a home without one.
