Chamber of Commerce is a great resource

Hoping to find some great content for my websites and blogging, I stopped by my local Chamber of Commerce this afternoon. I introduced myself to the receptionist, told her I was a local real estate agent, and asked if they had a relocation package I could buy. "We only charge for maps or if we have to mail something," she replied. "But everything on that wall is free."

'The wall' was a 6' x 12' area filled with brochures, flyers, and magazines. What a find! Here's a sampling:

  • a Demographic Summary
  • the 2006 Chamber Business Directory
  • the Chamber Connection newsletter
  • Las Vegas Life, Las Vegas Home & Design, Southern Nevada Home & Garden, and Relocating in Las Vegas magazines
  • Las Vegas Senior Guide
  • ten recreational and cultural brochures
  • five golf course brochures
  • a terminal map and info for McCarran International Airport
  • three brochures from other real estate agents (opposition research!)

Not being a chamber member, I didn't realize how much they had to offer. It looks like membership will be a part of my 2007 budget. My immediate challenge now is do I update my websites and post a few blogs, or raft the Colorado and visit a few golf courses!

The first thing that I did was to join our local Chamber. They have such wonderful resources for the Real Estate professional. Every week we get a list of the people who have called the chamber looking for "Relocation" information..

OMG post five blogs in one day, then go rafting and golf! God knows we work hard enough take a vacation!

I also heard (on RT no less) that some Chambers of Commerce have apartment dweller names from rent roll information and that they provide them.  Now I don't know if they are free, but, apartment residents' info is hard to come by; so I intend to check that out.  Now, after your blog, I see I have other reasons to check it out.
