Why there's a Rain Maker in Tucson Arizona

I want to personally thank our Arizona Ambassador Mike Jones. I've finally decided after just four weeks to make the jump to Rain Maker. I've been impressed by how Active Rain provides the environment for expression of opinion, education, information and some funny commentary as well.

As a mortgage lender in Tucson Arizona where we have been hit hard by foreclosures and shortsale properties I find it more important than ever to expand my sphere of influence. Loan guidelines continue to tighten up as well as credit restrictions and so it's become increasingly difficult to qualify buyers in such a market. So expanding the methods by which I find contacts and form relationships with referral partners is that much more important.

My original purpose for trying Active Rain was to see if I could work this networking style into my daily or semi daily routine. It was easier than I thought it would be. The point system makes the experience that much more fun and somewhat of a challenge.

So for all the people who are trying Active Rain out for free, once you feel you can work it into your routine and feel somewhat comfortable with the process, then it's time to upgrade. go to the person who signed you up because sometimes they can offer you some valuable advice and maybe even get you a discount on your first month.

See you in the rain,

Michael A. Rohde

GOOD MORNING MICHAEL!  Glad you made that jump - I've really enjoyed Active Rain too!  I haven't quite been here a year - but like you making contacts in different areas is very important and so I stay the routine!  Enjoy your time here! -- Gab

Gabrielle, Thank you for the support. I have to apologize for the response delay. To tell you the truth I haven't gotten that part down yet. Meaning when I think I am responding I don't seem to be doing it correctly. I guess I am still a little rusty. Always room for improvement for me.

Sandy, Thanks buddy, I thought I responded but I can't find it anywhere. Live and learn. I better do some reading up on how to drive this car.

Hi Mike,

So being a Rainmaker and having an outside blog are one and the same thing?  There is so much to Active Rain, that I feel like I am just scratching the surface!  I signed up to be a Rainmaker the same day I signed up for AR, because it is such a wonderful venue to share and get information if nothing else!

Thanks for your tips.  They are appreciated!

Julie, I appreciate your comments. I agree with you that Active Rain is a great communication and networking tool for the Real Estate community. There are many ways to use it and you can get easily absorbed but I've enjoyed it so far. Good luck with your membership to AR.
