Tonight coming home from Durham, we listened to a program on WHQR about Woodstock. It happened 40 years ago this weekend..
That is astonishing to me. 1969..............That was a year.
Can you recall what you were doing on the weekend 40 years ago? Wishing that I were at woodstock.

they have apparently made a movie about it..i just saw the previews tonight...and now I read your post..I had no idea it was 40 years old.
I did not realize that is was 40 years either...I was a junior in college at that time..

That was a turbulent time as it was in the midst of the Vietnam War and my draft board had labeled me as 1-A. I wsa trying to graduate prior to being called up and so didn't have the opportunity to go. It would have been quite an experience indeed, sorry I missed it.
I was no where close to up state New York. I was in a town called Long Binh Vietnam.
The chicago sun times had an inteview with the people that were on the cover of the Woodstock album. They married 2 years later and have 2 adult kids. Pretty wierd how history just keeps on happening.
Several of my friends did travel to Woodstock for the "event" but I had to work. It was more inmportant to me to earn my Summer money so I could return to college with some "green" in my pockets.
Ginger --- I was married with 2 little ones and we were living in Clemson, SC --never occurred to us to go to Woodstock.

I was to young to go to wood stock but if I was old enough I sure would have tried to go. I did help to create wood rock 09 and it was a blast. I do love a wild concert now a days some are just to full of crowd control.
