Remember the amazing Karnak? Well here is a prediction from me. It may be as valid as Karnak.

If you are counting on an extension of the 8K credit don't. The merits of the credit , which are many, aside, there is an over riding issue. The issue is budget deficit. I think that pressure from our creditors will make us very careful in any measure that would increase debt. After all the market is picking up so you could say the credit has done it's work.

This is not a popular opinion I know. In fact it raises another issue. We all want cuts but not in our area. The F-22 which effects Georgia is a prime example. Chambliss a great Senator for less spending suddenly switched sides when it effected us here. So a cut of the 8k credit raises an interesting dilemma. We all want less spending but not at our expense ! Governing isn't for the faint of heart is it ?!!

Charles:  I hope you are wrong about this; however, I fear the worse.  I don't think we are any where near being out of the woods yet and I would like to see the $8 credit stay and even be increased.  Where is Karnak when we need him?

Many agents think an extension is "in the bag".  Like you, I'm not so sure.  I'm encouraging all my first-time buyers to get busy to find the right home NOW so as to close before the November 30 deadline.

Charlie, as for the $8,000 Tax Credit, we have done all we can to alert the public about it... you can lead a horse to water, etc....  for those who delay and miss it... I'm so sorry.  If it is extended then why put out deadlines because no one will pay any attention to a deadline, that is continually extended.

The second part you mention..  Do not cut out MY NEIGHBORHOOD that is what is wrong with our COngress... no one is willing to work together and CUT Across THE BOARD, WE MUST HAVE CUTS ACROSS THE BOARD, in order to bring some kind of fiscal stability to our nation.  It will take honorable men and women to do that and I do not see much of that in our Congress right now.  what a shame.

Less spending but not at our expense sounds like having your cake and eating it too.
