Liberty Motors: Auto Dealer and Repair Shop North Liberty Iowa
The fact is, everyone needs a reputable and good auto repair shop! That's why I'm going to start my series on local businesses in the area by telling you about Liberty Motors, an Auto Dealer and Repair shop in North Liberty Iowa.
My car started exhibiting serious brake problems yesterday while I was out and about. Before Liberty Motors opened its doors for repairs I would have been concerned about where to take it without having to take a second mortgage on my home to get it fixed! No worries, I'm lucky, I have somewhere to go where I will be well taken care of.
Liberty Motors is a family owned and operated auto dealer and repair shop in North Liberty. Ken and Spence Madole, (father and son), are responsible for the daily operation, with Dell Madole, Ken's wife taking care of the title-work and other paperwork. Seth Madole, Ken's other son is also a part owner. He lives in Minnesota, so he's not as involved in the day to day running of the business as he was when he still lived here, but of course it's not unheard of to sell cars over state lines and that's something that does come up sometimes.
The Madole family started the business in 2001. Ken has been in the auto selling business for almost 40 years, so he has a lot to bring to the table. With that kind exposure to the auto selling business it's easy to see why Spence and Seth would follow in his footsteps!
They started out in 2001 purely as an auto dealership. I actually bought my son his first car there in 2004. It was a Dodge Neon, (my 17 year old son wasn't getting anything he could hot rod in!) Spence made it an absolutely wonderful experience for us. It's really not overstating it to say that when you go to Liberty Motors you are treated like family. There's no upselling, no fast talking salesman, just good honest service.
After a really smooth transaction perhaps the thing that most impressed me was when Spence went out to the car with me and took a photo to display on their wall. You'll see the wall I'm talking about in the photo on the right. Brilliant idea, don't you think? It really underlines the comment I made earlier about being treated like family. Spence told me this morning that very often customers will look at the wall and get excited to see their friends featured there.
Two years ago Liberty Motors expanded their service and opened a repair shop. They now have a full time mechanic, Tony Donatti on their team and offer flexible service at a fair price.
