My GPS Navigational System --- A Blessing or A Curse!

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Crescent Moon Realty, Inc. & Land N Sea Auctions.

When using my navigational system to get to my listing appointments, previewing property or showing property--- can be a real fascinating journey. I have gotten lost,  been down streets that were dead ends, an yet this unit still try's to tell me to keep on going when it is impossible to proceed ahead. I have arrived late to my destinations because of the route that I was given was so circuitous.

So, I have a back up plan -- I check with mapquest, and I carry a Thomas Guide that is current.

I do many of the same things. GPS is nice but it does not know everything!

Although the technology that allows us to have our GPS is amazing, it's far from perfect. I've been told to turn onto dead-end streets when looking for the expressway and told to turn when no street was in sight. I always have a back up plan such as Mapquest.

My GPS cant find my sisters house, The certainly are not perfect! But then again neither are maps, when I first moved into my house (prior to the GPS age) it took years for my street to show up on a map!

The other day (after reading and commenting here) I heard a story about some one that drove off a bridge because their GPS said "turn here" ...  I think Darwin may have been in the back seat giggling a bit, but it is an example of how dependent we are on technology!
