I purchased a former bank building. The interior requires some renovation but the majority is all glass offices. You can see what’s going on everywhere and would know if there was a fire. The local fire department wants me to install a sprinkler system even though they aren’t required by state law. The expense and time delays are astronomical! I have no choice to abide by this requirement!
My point? If the local fire department can require fire sprinklers, why can’t someone require that schools have barometric weapons detection systems tied to electronic locking doors? How about devices to notify police in an emergency? How many school shootings do we need before someone makes this a requirement?
Let’s face it? The airlines spend millions to provide “security” with all of their fancy equipment, yet a terrorist can carry liquid on their body that goes undetected! They can pack devices in their luggage that can cause harm in a remotely activated fashion. Yet, schools have little or no security.
3 shootings in one week! Kids and employees killed! What will it take?
