While looking around town for some Grove City Events I stumbled upon a great upcoming event; "Balloons and Tunes"! At first I felt this would be just an event for the kids, what with balloons and all. But boy oh boy, was I ever wrong! Like mom used to tell me..."Boy, don't you ever judge a book by it's cover"! Well, that's what she said and we all know she got that from somewhere else but the point is that the title of this Grove City event isn't as spectacular as the event itself. "Balloons and Tunes" used to known far and wide as "Balloons Off Broadway" but has grown in size and popularity over the years. Hot Air Balloons are still the main attraction but Grove City has pumped up the volume by making this a three day event and has brought in more attractions to keep families entertained.
This Grove City Event starts Friday August 21 and runs through Sunday August 23,2009. Featuring over 30 Hot Air Balloons you can learn anything and everything about Hot Air Ballooning. If the thought had ever crossed your mind about what it may be like to get into a Hot Air Balloon, the opportunity to get into a basket can be yours for a nominal fee! Then you can tell all your family and friends when they see that car commercial on tv (you know, the one with the nudist balloonists stranded on the road?) you can exclaim happily that you did that! Of course you'll want to let them know you had your clothes on. Also available at this Grove City Eventis plenty of music and entertainment, children's activities, shows, food and drink (even a beer tent for those not driving and old enough to indulge) and craft vendors. Great for photographs will be the Balloon Glows on Friday and Saturday evening and you can explain to the little ones why they shoot flames into a sack and how that makes the Balloon go up! Be prepared for the noise of the jets they use! It's awesome but loud.
If, for whatever reason, you get bored with looking at Balloons and taking part in the entertainment, make sure you walk around and find the Rock Climbing Wall, the Power Jump and the Rope Course. While these are an additional fee, it may well be worth the few extra dollars for the entertainment value it brings. I don't have a food vendors list, but I really hope that Planks brings along some of their great Pizza. Seems to me only natural that a Grove City Eventshould have a Grove City fixture of the Restaurant biz along side!
Come on out and enjoy this three day Grove City Event! All are invited whether or not you live in Grove City.
