THANKFUL THURSDAY: Blessings abound despite adversity

By
Home Stager with Ready 2 Stage

I am a thankful woman.....My husband has suffered from Lyme Disease (associated with tick bites) for approximately 15 years.  We have been to many Dr.'s near and far.  We have had ups an downs, and ins and outs, but he continues to love me and amaze me.  He lives with 24/7 pain and sometimes has to sleep just to escape it.  Yet, he rarely ever whines or complains, or even asks "why me?"

I am thankful for the nearly 23 years that we have been married and he continues to surprise me, despite his poor health and constant hurting.  Take a look at what greeted me when I walked into our Master bathroom a few days ago!  He used my mascara and whatever resources he could find to continue to show me his love.  I am blessed........    GOD IS GOOD.......ALL THE TIME!!!!!

I am blessed...

Lori,

How sweet that is.  it's obvious that he knows how well you have been caring for him all of these years.

I had no idea what this post was going to be about when I opened it, so thanks for sharing.

You have got to be some strong woman to do what you do for him day in and day out!

Konnie--hug those you love....And don't be the first to turn loose.  Thanks for your comment

Sheila--Thanks for your comments and encouragement.  It gets pretty trying at times, but I vowed for better or worse and things will get better!

Pat--You are welcome.  Such an easy thing to do, but makes a huge impact, doesn't it?  Thanks for your comment.

How sweet!  I'm so glad you took this picture and shared it with us.  I'd rather come home to that vs. a mercedes in the driveway.

Lori what a gift the two of you have together.  A good and happy marriage is so wonderful - I've been blessed as well with such a great guy.

I love what your husband did for you - he must be pretty creative to come up with that one!  I feel for him, that must be horrible to live with pain every day.  Bless his heart.  And yours too for loving him!!

So did you leave the paper love note up for awhile!!

Steve--I agree with you about being spontaneous.  No amount of shopping for a gift could have produced more happiness for me!  Thanks for your comment.

Anna "Banana"--Part of the paper love note is still up.  We had to "use the I and the U, but I'm leaving it up until it is needed!!  It's kind of like when your children make you some "special" artwork and you can't bear to take it down.  Thanks for your comments.

Lori,  I know you are both special people and are blessed to have found each other.  It is rare to find a love so genuine and you are an inspiration for the rest of us.  I couldn't think of a better way to walk into a bathroom than that - it has given me a couple of ideas!  Hope all went well this week.  i have been thinking about you.  Thank you for sharing this beautiful story!

Sheila--Wasn't that sweet?  He has always been so thoughtful and sweet like that.  If I were in his shoes, I'm not sure I would be so pleasant.  I try everyday to remember that he is my blessing, and not to take him for granted.  Thanks for your sweet comments.  You are my blessing, too!

How creative and sweet all in one.  He even put in an exclamation.

My husband brought home flowers the other day for no reason, it was very sweet, after 19 years, you think you know a person and then he does that!
