Services for Real Estate Pros with SendOutCards

As a mortgage professional I always find it helpful for my business to assist a real estate agent to win at their business first.  I have always read surveys that are conducted by third party companies about the relationship between a agent and a mortgage officer however I would like to know first hand from die-hard agents

As a real estate agent what are the top 3 things that you look for when dealing with a mortgage professional?

1.  Accessibility to agent and buyer.

2.  Prompt with accurate GFE and Truth in Lending statements.

3.  Get the Loan Approval with the contract date and settle on time.

I guess that's about 6 or 7 things.

Diego:  I think that you're on the right track when you speak of helping "your" agents get business.  I wrote a post awhile back called, "Relationship Selling" that goes into a method that I taught my loan officers that has been very successful.  I ran into one of my old loan officers the other day at a social function and in talking to her (she closes around 20 million a year now) we were both amazed at how many of the folks that I brought into the business and taught this method to either own their own mortgage companies or manage branches for some of the biggest names in the business.  It might be worth checking out.

As far as the top three things that I look for when dealing with a loan officer doing a loan on one of my listings, I agree with Diane Bell, except in a different order.

1) Honest and ethical

2) Prompt communications

3) Meeting dates

I won't link to it, but I just wrote two posts about my dealing with an agent where I was the loan officer and something went wrong with the application.  In the spirit of fair play, I'd like to list the three things that I expect of an agent when I'm the loan officer.

1) Treat me with respect and don't assume that just because you don't know me that I'm out to screw you or the client

2) Understand that mortgages can be a very complicated process and that things can go wrong.  A huge part of my job is in overcoming obstacles when they present themselves.

3) Within reason, don't beat me up on my rate/point combination.  If I do a good job, I deserve to earn a commission.

Good posts!  Yes I agree with both sides.  One other thing I would add is that I may not have to call my lender very often on the weekends but I do expect the person I refer all my business to be available when I do call.
