Hello Kansas, Are YOU on a quest to find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow? Get Recognized?
This post is a result of two posts by my friend Richard Weisser down in Georgia. The first post was "How do you expect to get drenched in the rain if you don't even want to get your feet wet?" dated 5/21/09 in which he offers 6 suggestions to those of us here in Active Rain. In addition he also offers his personal guarantee "So, for those of you that want to succeed at blogging, I offer you this challenge. Before you throw in the towel, write at least one hundred quality posts before you make your value assessment. It takes that long to develop the correct skills and disciplines and also to create a body of content large enough to have a significant SEO impact on your business. Now that is some guarantee wouldn't you say? Richard then follows that post with another post titled "Achieving national celebrity status as a result of ActiveRain blogging becomes a reality! (of sorts)" where he talks about a recent interview with Realtor Magazine on line where he was interviewed about blogging for business. So, IMHO, Richard is not only a celeb but one that knows where of he speaks.
With the numerous posts talking to newbie's here in Active Rain on how to be a success in their blogging venture to improve their visibility to the public I am setting out on a quest. I am not going to suggest things to newbie's or those that are less active on AR; I am on a search for some of these folks for introduction to our AR family. Here is my 3 step plan:
- Go on a state by state search and post between 5 and 7 people each Saturday
- Then you the MEMBERSHIP will be able to see and encourage them by responding to their most recent post
- A NEW twist, the post must be done since January of this year.
The end result will be, hopefully, an increase in activity with more members becoming visible. Now there is a really BIG problem with this plan. I will not be able, my rule, to suggest those that have not done a post or even posted their picture. You see there won't be any secret agents, lenders, stagers, inspectors, etc. shown. Sorry, if you want to be considered I need to see who you are, sorta like your picture on your business card.
Today I am looking at the state of Kansas, where Active Rain has a total of 831 AR members as of this morning. I would say that Rob Lang #1 and Michael Russell #2 could have some competition coming up behind them. So, say hello to:
Bonnie Boyles with Chuck Boyles, Inc. in Kansas City, Ks.
Bonnie is Publisher of "kchomes", featuring homes for sale in the entire Kansas City Metroplex. Their real estate catalogue truly exists to promote listings to the prospective buyer. In Bonnie's only post, in March, she spoke of two of her friends listings and I thought this was a nice tribute. She hasn't been back and just may need some encouragement. Could you help?
Parker Byron with Kansas City Reagional Homes, Inc. in Leawood, KS.
Parker must have just opened the doors to a new company and was looking for interested agents to come and take a look at this new company. I hope that he has had some good recruiting. Drop in and say hello.
Jared Leek with Front Door Real Estate, Inc. in Fort Scott, KS.
Jared is the Broker of Front Door Real Estate located in Ft Scott, KS. He offers a full-line of real estate services including residential, commercial and land sales, property management, & interior design consults. Looking at his picture he doesn't look old enough to be out of college. Oh well I guess that comes with getting old.
Carista Misler with Reece and Nichols in Leawood, KS.
Carista first said hello in January by way of an introductory post. She asked that we be patient with her as she learns how to navigate around here in the Rain. I'm thinking that we should call 911 or is that Jeremy and Brad to come and give her a hand. LOL......... How about dropping in and offer some help.
Shelda Goodwin with Keller Williams Realty Partner, Inc. in Overland Park, KS.
Shelda's first post was in April and she was showing us her new listing. I hope that it has sold and she is really busy. Maybe she forgot about us L or maybe she is just a little bit scared of us. I don't know why? Stop in and say hello.
Tim & Jenny Hines with Keller Williams Realty Partners, Inc. in Shawnee Mission, KS.
Tim and Jenny did their first post in July and were announcing a new home subdivision. From the price points they are showing they should not have any problems moving their new homes. Stop in and pay them a visit.
Chris Faulkner with Faulkner Real Estate in Ulysses, KS.
In specializing in farm ground and mineral sales by private treaty and auction Chris did his first post about Kansas land sales in 2009. This post was done in February and I am thinking that he needs to come back and give us an update. What say you?
Amber Pierceall-Dollard with Speedway Realty in Kansas City, KS.
OK, OK, I know that Amber makes number 8 for this post so I am considering her a bonus. But this is my post, RIGHT? Amber has this to say about herself, "I'm one of the very few people who wake up every day and say "I love my job". What do you think, is she right or is there just one more person out there in AR that feels the same way? Come on somebody tell her she is wrong...
Be looking for your state coming soon to a post near you. Next I will be off to Kentucky; if you know of someone celebrating a birthday in Kentucky next week just email their name to me and I will acknowledge one person.
Please stop by and encourage these guys and gals and let's see if we can improve some of the participation. Thanks for stopping in.
If you are looking for a very simple way to move up in your standings for the state that you live in, here are two small suggestions:
- Make one comment on someone's blog post.....Just pick one of the Featured Posts and read it then comment on what you read and
- Complete your profile and then if you are looking for other suggestions,
- Click here and here and here for more help.
Thanks to Active Brad Andersohn and Jeremy Blanton for their contributions. BTW, don't let these guys scare you they are really docile.
