Out of the mouth of babes

I was reading my sons journal from preschool the other day and was reminded of a funny story.  Each day the teacher wrote a short paragraph telling what kind of day each child had that day.  If there was a problem it too was recorded.

Ben had a little troulble listening that day...When Mrs Dolly asked him what the problem was he responded

I couldnt find a picture with cotton ...but this will do.

"You see this cotton in my ear (he had an ear infection).  Well I can only hear half of what you are saying.  I am making good choices today and I am only hearing the good things you say."  When she pressed further he said " I heard you tell us to line up to go outside, but did not choose to hear you say it was time to quiet down."

Thankfully Dolly saw a bit of humor in this and we were not asked to find another school.  I was a little embarassed that he would come up with such a thing...wonder where he gets it from?  Certainly not in my gene pool, must be from his father.  By the way that is Ben.

Cute story.  I'd say he's witty and a quick thinker.  That combination can generally get you out of a heap of trouble!

Leanne - If you only knew!  Truthfully, he comes by it quite naturally and it is not from his father as previously stated by his mother.

Oh, how funny! I guess you know the family since you both work (live?) in Fredricksburg, VA.  Or is it that you're related?  LOL!

Either way, he looks like a handful, but a good handful.  :-)
