How can a home stager present property if they cannot present themselves?

Home Stager with Shift Property Styling

A good home stager understands it is not only their work that makes them stand out from the crowd, it is also the way they present their business that can have an impact on the work they get. After all, if we cannot present ourselves or our business well, how can we present our client's homes?

We are all acutely aware that presentation is important, but how well does your business present? Stand back and take a look, a really good look. Now with your staging experience, does your branding look tired? Do competitor logos look more impressive than yours? Could potential clients be going with a competitor purely based on the way your business is presented vs your equally priced and experienced home staging peer?

Is the way your business presents itself in need of a makeover much like many of your clients homes?

We all reach a point in our business where we recognize that our business looks tired, and we all know how hard getting the final look for our business right is when starting a business but knowing when and how to make the change can be a difficult process.

The toughest thing can be explaining to a designer exactly what home staging is even before to you get to brief them on what it is you want. Then there are color choices, design elements, applications for logos, typefaces and on and on. The process can be quite confronting and exhausting. We'd all rather be staging homes than worrying about designs.

Director of Shift by Design, Adam Luttrell, a Tasmanian (Australia) home staging business came to this realization and recently created a business specializing in assisting home stagers create branding that stands out called Shift Branding International. Shift Branding International aims to provide valuable design support to those in small business. The business also provides advice on search engine optimization and web site development with an eye on budget.

Adam has over 15 years experience in advertising, marketing, web, media and SEO and as a home staging business owner and stylist brings a wealth of knowledge to home stagers embarking on the journey for the first time or those looking to redesign their existing look.

Maybe it's time to review your look. If it is, contact Shift Branding International and see what can be done for your business.

This is so iomportant.  The first business card we (okay, I'll fess us, I) designed was, well, cluttered.  My business partner pointed it out to me.  We also make it a point to keep pour brochures, e-mails, etc. minimal but attractive.

Just went through all of this with the design of a new website.  Besides the way our website, logo, and other marketing materials present, don't forget the all important YOU!  Your appearance is a reflection on your company too.
