DOING THINGS OUR OWN WAY
We all like to do things our own way, in our own time, accountable to no one. Let’s look at these three.
Do it your own way, fine, as long as your own way works. Remember you don’t have to reinvent the wheel, most of the challenges you face in organization and tactics have been worked out before these challenges became yours. Check carefully the way those who have succeeded have done things. If you don’t stay open to what others have to offer you may find yourself busily solving problems that have already been solved.
In your own time and accountable to no one is also fine and dandy as long you have the discipline and the judgment to get the job done.
But accountability to no one can only work if you are able to be disciplined about your time and accountable to yourself and that takes self knowledge which many lack.
If you find yourself spending many more hours thinking about what you should do and never quite getting around to doing those things you may be falling into procrastination hell. If you see that happening you may want to check with someone to be sure you are actually progressing.
Remember, you don’t have to be a genius to succeed. A genius is someone who hits the bull’s eye on a target that no one else even knew was there. To be a genius you don’t have to be able to do all things brilliantly at all times. One thing done brilliantly will do thank you.
