Short Sales, Potential Foreclosures on the Rise Throughout Greenville, Simpsonville, SC

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Van West Realty

As we speak to prospective clients lately, we are recognizing a substantial increase in hearing the following story:

"We must sell our home, we have little to no cash reserves, we don't know how we'll make next month's house payment, we lost our job, (or) my business dried up (or) my employer went out of business, we owe more on our home than the current fair market value, (or) we've missed the last two house payments and we're getting threatening letters in the mail from our lender"

The first thing we tell these people is that they are not alone, and they do have options. It is critical for people to seek help and to understand their options as early as possible. All too often, people live in total denial, thinking their circumstances will change, and then they seek help way too late in the process.

People we meet are very commonly in denial about what their home is currently worth. They seem oblivious to the fact that the market has shifted and there has been a drop in our market median and market average price points.

We are able to help people navigate through the short sale process and avoid foreclosure. With a licensed Realtor on our staff who is a Certified Distressed Property Expert, we have been able to help clients preserve their good credit and avoid the dreadful realities of a foreclosure by successfully negotiating a short sale with their lender.

We encourage anyone reading this blog who may be in trouble with their finances and mortgage payments to act quickly and seek professional help before it is too late!

Yes, agreed! There is such relief that can be realized if people do not wait until it is too late! For many people, foreclosure is completely unnecessary and avoidable.
