BUYcott FOR Whole Foods Market!!!

Education & Training with Voices Empower

Below is an e-mail I recieved from our Dallas Tea Party coordinator. Please take the time to read

As you may know, Texas-based Whole Foods Market is being subjected to a nationwide BOYCOTT by SEIU and other left-wing groups after its CEO John Mackey had the courage to speak up against the Administration's health care 'reform' plan.

They're trying to kill Whole Foods' sales and oust John Mackey as CEO.

There's a group of us who are not prepared to leave our fellow Texans to stand alone in their battle with SEIU, and we're asking you to join us.

We're organizing a COUNTER-EFFORT to let SEIU BULLIES and the rest of the left-wing radicals know that we STAND IN SOLIDARITY with John Mackey and Whole Foods Market.

The NATIONWIDE kick-off for our BUYcott will begin on September 1.  The St. Louis Tea Party will kick off the show at 6:00 pm.  We'll be following their lead here in Dallas at 7:00 pm.

This call is going out across the nation and we expect NATIONAL COVERAGE for this event.

Please JOIN US in standing up AGAINST the SEIU BULLIES and FOR LIBERTY!

See below the information going out against John Mackey!! This is disgraceful!!

The day after I read about the CEO's comments, I went to Whole Foods and spent $150. I mailed the receipt and a letter to the HQ, letting them know of my support. Good luck with the Tea Party; we are planning a big one here on September 12.

The ironic thing about those who are boycotting Whole Foods is that their expressed goal (hurting John Mackey) will in NO WAY be accomplished by their actions.  What an effective boycott would do is hurt all the other employees.

Why won't it hurt the CEO?

Because his base salary is $1 per year.  (Last year, his total compensation was less than $35k.) And he donated his stock portfolio to various charities.

One would think this organization was a radical right-wing capitalist-pig run place that abuses its employees and makes obscene amounts of money for its executives.  On the contrary, it's far closer to being a left-wing community-run place that empowers its employees and limits its executives' pay.  (And yes, their prices are often higher than most other stores... partially due to policy, but more as a result of their insistence on higher quality and better service.)

Alice - and this will not be the only boycott, I expect that there will be boycotts urged against any company that eithe speaks out against the plan or that sponsors any show where someone speaks out against the administration.

David has a couple of great points.

It's the Chicago way of shutting up the opposition.  It may work in Chicago, but not across this great land it won't.

This is the dumbest reaction to the CEO. Why is it that Freedom of Speech is only ok for liberals and this administration?

We don't have a Whole Foods really close by but I have sent an email to the corporation voicing my support.

Excellent research David, if they only knew, yet it might entail reading might it not?

I receive emails almost every day from the Dems calling for my boycotting of numerous products, land letting these companies know why.  The latest email is now calling all registered Dems to inindate Congress with emails/faxes/letters to get a tax on Global Warming.  Just WHO'S deciding what should this group shouldbe pushed to do?

I have to laugh though concerning the Whole Foods boycott, the only foods I've seen the SEIU/ACORN group carrying to their demostrations are the likes of Hostess Cupcakes along with plenty of Diet Coke and Pepsi.
