ActiveRain Is Coming to Phoenix! SO WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL?
What I can tell you is that there are plenty of REALTORS and Loan Officers asking questions. What is the big deal? What is ActiveRain anyway? Why should I even bother attending?" The other comment and belief is, "Socal Media? It's just a fad!" However, I like to believe the old adage "Ignorance is Bliss!" I don't mean to offend anyone by that but as in any part of life, sometimes we tend to drift towards the path of least resistance or shy away from the unknown.
I know what you "Rainmakers" are thinking! I am a bit perplexed as I see my fellow professionals missing out on another stream of income and communication with their current and prospective clients. Plus I've been able to meet so many new and fun people who I now call "friends." What many real estate professionals do not understand is that there are approximately 32% of potential homebuyers and sellers searching the internet for the next real estate professional to help them. That is a HUGE number!
How do we get a piece of that business and how do we effectively communicate with that community? Think about this, as the need for information swells on a daily basis, how are you going to effectively communicate to 300+ people/ clients in your database while performing your day to day business tasks. These are valid questions and concerns that need an effective answer and solution. I believe that Social Media will NOT take over our industry, however it has become and will continue to be an effective medium and tool to grow our business. If you are pro-growth as much as I am, I believe you will agree that Social Media makes sense.
Well enough of my opinion.. What do we do about it? I suggest that if you are in the Phoenix Area on September 2nd, you get yourself over to this exciting and fun workshop that will teach you exactly how to dissect and use the ActiveRain site and also show how to create and maximize your presence on the internet in general. We have 2 of the most prolific bloggers coming to town out of the goodness of their heart to share with us these exciting techniques, ACTIVERAIN'S very own Brad Andersohn and Bob Stewart. These guys are going to blow us away with some really cool techniques and show us how to maximize our ACTIVERAIN membership.
This event is going to be a blast! We will also be providing prizes (IPODS, Photography Sessions and many other gifts). In my own opinion, it is going to be the real estate event of the year. It has caught enough attention that The Arizona Republic (The states largest newspaper) will be providing press coverage. If you haven't heard, people are blogging about this from across the country right here in ACTIVERAIN. They are kind of jealous but that is ok, I think Brad and Bob will be open to doing one of these in your area too if you are nice! ;-)
