Back in 1994 we were on our vacation to beautiful Lake Tahoe when we "stumbled" upon a gorgeous, quaint valley called the Carson Valley. Named after Kit Carson, this "secret" of Northern Nevada is actually made up of 3 towns: Gardnerville, Minden, and Genoa. It is framed on the West by the majestic Sierra Nevada Mountains and to the East and South by the Pinenut Mountain range. To the North is the capital of Nevada, Carson City.
Little did we know in 2000 that Gardnerville would become our home. We lived in Tahoe from 1995-2000 and moved "off the hill" into our new home in Gardnerville. What was the draw? Here are a few:
- The Quality of Life: simplistic yet active (yes, we have the internet & Starbucks!)
- Clear, clean air & water
- The availability of outdoor sports: hiking, fishing, horse-back riding, skiing, snowboarding, water sports, camping, hang gliding, gliders, flying, hot-air balloons, and so much more
- Family-oriented activities
- 4 picturesque seasons
- Minimal crime
- Great school district
- 55 minutes to Reno-Tahoe International Airport
- NO STATE INCOME TAX
And those are just for starters. This is a great place to live, raise a family, retire, and GROW. If you have questions, we have your answers. No pressure, just helpful.
