Tuesday's Tip #19

One of my favorite bloggers out there, Seth Godin, put up a great post yesterday, entitled “That Moment”. To quote, him:

“When you are sitting right on the edge of something daring and scary and creative and powerful and perhaps wonderful… and you blink and take a step back.

That’s the moment. The moment between you and remarkable.

Most people blink. Most people get stuck. All the hard work and preparation and daring and luck is nothing compared with the ability to not blink.”

Do you blink? Or do you pull the trigger?

I know plenty of investors who will look at a deal that they’re very interested in purchasing and by the time they’ve looked at it and then looked at it again and then slept on it two or three times, the deal is gone and so is the opportunity. Inevitably, I hear things like, “Well, I guess it just wasn’t meant to be” or “Shoot, I was just getting ready to make an offer.”

If you’re still blinking every time a deal crosses your path, ask yourself what’s stopping you. Is it fear? Lack of education or good deals? If you’ve been honest and see something you can change, then do it.

Tuesday’s Tip: Investing is not a spectator sport. The deal of a lifetime comes about once a week. So, get up and do something about it.
