It has smelled a bit like a campfire for the last few days.  Luckily, though, we were nowhere near the fires that have ravaged the Southern California area.  The smoke mixed with the skyline made for some fantastic sunsets.

Some of the best sunsets are those that leave behind problems. I'm glad you are only smelling the "bar-b-que".

Heather - It seems that California is on fire in so many areas.  Hopefully, we will be able to get a handle on some of them with the hurricane/storm that is coming up via Baja.  Auburn caught fire here in Northern California this afternoon.  We've burned several hundred acres and at least 2 dozen homes have been lost.

Heather, great photos, we are also experiencing this in our area, as much as I love the sunsets, I am hoping for rain to help out the firefighters!

Me, too, Heath.  I'm VERY grateful.  We have more fires going on this morning.

I've been praying for rain, Myrl, to help these poor firefighters do their job.

You're welcome, Judy.  It doesn't have to be smoke from fires that create these sunsets.  It's a nice side-effect of the smog, too.  ;)

Me, too, Tony & Darcy.  They SO need the help!

You're welcome, Irene.  I wish I had my camera with me the night before.  It was all shades of purple.

I agree, Caron.

Heather--I am glad that you are far enough from the fires.  Watching the news last night I thought of you & your safety.  Thanks for the sunset I missed one last night because of the rain, but I got to enjoy yours.  Keep us informed about the fires via posts.
