Smart cat? Dumb cat? Nutsy, can you come to Arkansas and help train this cat?

Critters come to our yard.  We've caught lots of them in the trap and we give them a free one-way trip ticket to the big woods outside of town.

We've had a troublesome visitor lately that has done nasty things to our back porch.  So the trap is set.  Now we may know why we haven't caught anything lately.

Guard cat?

My godson Nutsy would be able to perhaps help me with this problem.  Is the cat guarding the trap to keep a friend out?  Is the cat waiting to laugh if some possum gets trapped?  Is the cat showing that she's too smart to go in the trap?  Help me, Nutsy!!

Mrs Barbara,

My toying with the sensitivities of Mrs Kate, as she swoons for me, is a bit like your trap line, not so effective thanks to the cat but fun to talk about.

Sherry, Leon needs his cat back along with his pup and things would be great!!!  LOL

Nutsy, do you think my cat and Ms Kate have a few similarities?  They sorta interfere with the plans?  Ummmm......

Kate, thanks for that response!  It was well thought out and didn't insult a single person!!  LOL

Myrl, that cat is still preening herself and guarding that trap.  I swear she's looking out for someone's welfare!

Nutsy, enjoy the peace and quiet.  By the way, that hunting outfit that you have on reminds me that my husband is planning right now for his annual squirrel hunt.  Ooops!  Sorry about that.....

Hi Barbara,

I don't think that cat is smart at all...it's waiting for a rodent to get caught in the trap but a rodent won't come with the cat sitting on top of it!!  lol

Charles...too funny!!!

Charles, I love that picture!!  You outdid yourself on that one.  One thing it vividly shows.  Nutsy has gained a lot of stature, going from a lowly squirrel to the very equal of Mr. Steve.  Nutsy will own that business before long.

Tony, something is still playing with the trap but is too smart to go in to get the meatballs.  Your theory may be correct.

Barbara, I see you both miss me. Croakster has been visiiting but he goes back today.

Enter inspector nutsy in google or in google images to view your knuckelheaded weasel all day long. That's what nutsy tried to talk me into doing back when he thought he could steal my inheritance.

Mrs Barbara,

I am just dropping in and, here it is a few days later, and I see that the cat is still sitting on the cage. Does he sit there all the time?

Nutsy, the cat left long enough for a possom (excuse me, Opossum) to get caught.  I need to show his picture.  I think the cat wanted to save the opossum.  When I sat down to drink coffee there was nothing in the trap.  When hubby came out he remarked that we'd caught something.  Evidently the opossum comes around early in the morning.  SAD!  He got a one way trip....free though.

Robert, I love being featured in your group.  Thanks so much.  We did catch another possum so I may have to put him on the blog.

So here's the rest of the story.  Another one-way ticket to the big woods.  Parting is such sweet sorrow.

Possum in cageYou can see what the cat was sitting on trying to warn this critter.  Too bad.
