Hilton Head Island
Hilton Head Island has over 14 miles of beachfront and is child-friendly indeed, with shallow waters, gentle waves, and sand dollar-dotted shores. Watch the water for a while and you'll likely see frolicking dolphins swimming and playing; you can even see the smiling mammals up close by chartering a dolphin cruise. With Harbour Town or South Beach as your base, you can arrange cruises and water sports in the shadow of the island's iconic red-and-white-striped lighthouse or along side of the infamous "Salty Dog Cafe" (as the saying goes if your not the lead dog, the scenery never changes), or if you prefer tee off on the most famous of Hilton Head's 25 golf courses-a great place to get the kids started on the sport! Hilton Head Island also has bike trails all over the island and a State of the Art , Self Family Arts Center with city style shows. If all else fails rent a bicycle and ride for miles on the beach (at low tide only) The things to do on Hilton Head are endless.

Maureen, My wife and I have been to HH a few times. We spent our Honeymoon there. We love it and we do not even golf. We go at least once a year. We are considering getting into a time share but do not know much about it. We always stay at the Westin. I negotiate a great rate and a great room.

Ok Cindy your right the outer banks in my opinion have great beaches but Sherman Travel thinks were better sorry bout that :) and your right all beachs are good but i dont care for the black beaches in Kona Hawaii

Besides my HHI trips, my family gathering this summer (August), we will be going to Hatteras (Avon). I have never been to the outer banks. We are all looking forward to it.
