I Need Your Help...

Home Stager with Mothers Fighting For Others

I stumbled onto the American Express Members Project Contest a few nights ago. It gives people an opportunity to come up with ideas to change the world, to make a real difference. So, I called my partner in crime, Julie Ferenzi, to fill her in on this amazing opportunity. After an hour of brainstorming, we came up with our idea.

We call it One on One: One Company. One Orphanage. One Goal

Project Description:
Uniting individual companies with individual orphanages all over the world. One On One will match businesses of all sizes with orphanages whose needs will be directly and specifically addressed by that single business. The goal is to use the power of one on one relationships, to the benefit of both. The orphanage wins because they have a single additional resource on which they can depend. The corporation wins, because they have the ability to see and feel how their dollars are directly impacting the lives of children. There is power in relationships. One On One will enhance that power and deliver a unique giving experience, one that will change lives on both sides by providing Internet technologies to unite real people with real people. They'll see the progress, feel the change, know each other in ways unavailable through other organizations. Through Chat, Video and other real time and dynamic forms of electronic communication, we will engage people on a very real and personal level. One On One.

The idea is to get a company to sponsor an orphanage. Help the orphanage get all the supplies they need from school supplies to medical supplies, and having the ability to communicate with them via computer technology. If we win, the money would be used to set up both the company and orphanage with computers so they could keep in contact with each other. The ability to really see where your money is going, and the opportunity to see the children is priceless.

So we need your help. If you have an American Express account, you can login, and vote for our idea.  The more “conversation” that takes place on our idea, the better the odds we have of winning!  Also, when you log in to access your American Express account, $1 gets donated BY AMERICAN EXPRESS, to the funds for the charity that wins… up to $5 million dollars!  As of right now there are more than 4,000 entries and ideas, so we need your help to bring us closer to being chosen for the prize!

Will you help us?

So, if you have an AMEX account and you want to help...

If you like our idea, rate it...1-5 stars at the top of the post, and then leave a comment. I need as many eyes on this as possible. We have until the 17th to get the word out!!!

PLEASE HELP US!!! If you are not a card member, but know someone who is, please forward this to them.

Thank you so very much! Cross your fingers and your toes!

I don't have an Am Ex account!!!  Someone go vote, please!!  We have a local organization called Mission WV that finds foster homes for children, and they have a "One Church, One Child" plan.  This helps to give the family an additional support system since the church is helping to claim the child.  I think you have a great idea there -- and I hope you WIN!!  Rating you highly and wishing you all the best!

Rocky I am coming in late on this but have this in my prayers!

I am so ashamed and heartbroken to see "the special needs children left behind " from war induced murders of their caregivers. The media photo yesterday left me sobbing. We all have a responsibility to humanity and especially to the children of the world in need human touch, basic care and food / shelter. That is not alot to ask for.

I admire your constant efforts to protect and provide for the abandoned children of the world. They ARE our responsibility.

I think its a great idea, especially because there is almost an instant gratification to it. The effect will be almost immediate for both parties. I'm spreading the word! -Charles
