SEC FOOTBALL - THERE'S NOTHING LIKE IT!

Only four more days until the first football game of the 2009 season!!

In the South, SEC football is king.  Brides plan their weddings around it and even the hosts of the opening day dove hunts consider the time of the game of their favored team!

Here in Athens, GA, as a household divided,  I'll be anxiously watching the Georgia Bulldawgs play Oklahoma State in the afternoon while Paul will be chewing his fingernails over Alabama and Virginia Tech in the evening.

Paul & Hairy Dawg share a special moment in anticipation of SEC football kickoff this Saturday.

Please let us know if we can help you with any real estate needs in the Athens, GA area.

My husband comes from a family of huge Alabama fans......they are so excited!  We got married on Alabama's homecoming in 2001 and there were a few that didn't make the wedding because of it.

Good luck with your teams!

Paul,

As an experienced Realtor what do you do when a client insists on  writing an offer(they are soccer fans) on Saturday afternoon when Florida is coming up to play your Bulldogs???

We gotta do what we gotta do!  Actually, it hasn't come up in 18 years.  It's nearly impossible to show property on home game days (6 per year) except during certain times.

Both my husband and I are UGA alumn. Loved watching the games "Between the Hedges". GO DAWGS!!!!

I can't imagine getting around a college town on a home game day. Might as well just watch the game and do business before or after!

Paul,

That certainly backs up your claim that the people of Athens are SEC  football crazy!!!  Sharon and I live in West Lafayette, Indiana and our home fans are very proud of Purdue, but I must admit my wife has had several showings on game days.  It is very tricky trying to get around West Lafayette during a Purdue home game.  I may have to concede you your point about SEC football, but I am sure there are Realtors in Ann Arbor or Columbus who would disagree with you.

Thanks for the reply!
