One of the best things about living in the Brookside Community is the weekly Farmers Market. Located on the corner of Wornall and 63, vendors from through out the surrounding areas bring fresh organic produce, beef, lamb, and baked goods to the heart of Brookside every Saturday morning. A great variety of produce from heirloom tomatoes to fresh herbs and flowers all locally and organically produced are available along with tantalizing recipe ideas. Its little wonder that residents flock to the local market every week.
With 2 grocery stores withing walking distance of most of the Brookside neighborhood, residents have no shortage of available gourmet foodstuffs but seem to enjoy the open air market as well as meeting the growers of their groceries.Delicious hand crafted cheeses, bread, and even organic doggy treats can be found on any given Saturday offering a unique shopping experience within steps from home.
Part of the charm of the Brookside community in Kansas City is the many specialty shops and restaurants just blocks from the residential area. Shopping features every thing from a wine boutique to an old fashioned Dime store. Clothing from the far reaches of the world, Fine Art, and hand crafted gifts are just a few of the many items that can be found in the quaint stores.
