Breaking Habits ~ Putting into play what I learned ~ Thank You Coach Bauerle

Week 1,  check it out here

Week 2   And part 2 is here

Week 3- check it out here

Week 4- and again

and Week 5

Last but not least, Week 6

This course lasted for 9 weeks. I'm missing 2 weeks as those were reviews to back track, review and make sure that if something didn't get implemented that we had an opportunity to do so. It was very helpful.

But here we come to the end of the 9 weeks. I notice that our class has grown reliant on each other, celebrating our accomplishments and giving each other encouragement as well as feedback.

I'm amazed that a class that I thought I was to finish on my own actually provided me with a room full of new friends, each person dedicated to knowledge of what we had learned and how to implement it.

With that I wrote this letter to my Coach, Dane Bauerle.

You will notice that it pretty much sums up my enthusiasm and encouragement for anyone that is interested in Improving their Performance and Results.

Mr. Dane Bauerle

The Dynamic Leader

Dear Dane,

I first would like to say thank you for the inspiration, coaching, coaxing, as well as the skills you have helped me define and refine during our sessions together over the past nine weeks.

The Improving Performance and Results program has been instrumental in teaching me many things.  The most important of which is identifying those tasks that are necessary and vital to the future of my team and brokerage.

The great lessons presented have allowed me to attain skills to:

•-          Organize and prepare for my appointments and tasks

•-          Recognize the need for and take the necessary steps in the art of "saying no"

•-          Implement a balance in managing my time with high payoff activities

•-          Achieve real goal setting sessions with appropriate actions for setting timelines that turn my "baby steps" into a real walk towards making my goals realities.

While this list might not look very impressive, I can tell you that the tools and systems learned in this class are invaluable, and the results - IMPRESSIVE!   I, through this program, have learned how to change my habits, my thoughts, my processes, and turn them into the tasks and activities that are so critical to my future.   This process has been, and will continue to be, of great value to myself, my team, and my company.  I have learned how to reevaluate my tasks as hand, delegation, stay on track, and schedule, so they actually get done.

I am delighted to recommend your Improving Performance and Results program to any Executive or Individual that is looking to make a strong change in their future.

With enthusiasm, excitement, and gratitude,

Hi Sheila,

Well, I read the whole thing, classes, accomplishments, goals everything.  Something you repeated alot was that your Attitude needed working on and tweeking, attitude is alot.  I also found it funny that you realized you didn't really want to change because of habits...you are only human and you will find that alot of us are the same.  We just have to be hit between the eyes to get it across to ourselves.  Great post, lots of good information and alot of things I need to workon myself.  Thanks!!

Sheila I've been following your progress and now your class has come to and end. If you begin to feel yourself taking shortcuts or sliding backward, stop and remember what you have learned. When I had my personnel agency I went through many of the things you experience daily. If you allow people to use your productive time then neither of you win. Trust that they can come to the conclusion on their own and not interrrupt you. Some days you will be pulled in many directions and feel that you have not accomplished anything you started out to do. Type out those eight or ten items that are important in a frame in your office and look at them each morning when you are reviewing your Daily Plan. I use to teach a class much like the one you just completed and "yes" I did learn to say NO.

Sheila, congratulations.  Habits are tough to break.  I've been learning a lot here at Active Rain, and am trying to apply a lot of the principles and tips that I am learning.  And, in the process, if I break a habit or two, that's a positive part of the growth!
