Creating Balance in Your Life

PICBalance; creating a state of harmony among the elements of your day, your week and your life is such a precious state to inhabit. Creating an environment of equilibrium provides you with the ability to feel poised, carry on your days with feelings of stability and provide you with a clear sense of steadiness.

Every person has a full day in which to delegate her time to certain tasks. We all have particular jobs that we put ahead of others and still further obligations that always seem to take a back burner and are consistently pushed aside until next time. However, designing our time to work to the best of our ability creates a sense of peace and harmony to carry on living our life in a comforting state.

So what can we do to enable ourselves to generate a day that will produce feelings of comfort, a workable agenda and an opportunity in which to sit back and relax?

  • Control your life and its happenings. Live your life the way you see fit
  • Create a daily to-do list the night before and check off your accomplishments as they happen.
  • Cater to yourself first and everyone else second.
  • Don’t worry about what other people think or say. No need to waste your time and energy.
  • Be open to change and allow yourself to roll with the punches
  • Tackle your least favorite tasks early in the day so as to not stew over their impending need.
  • Think in a positive manner to enhance your state of mind and your outlook.
  • Have a routine in place that provides time frames allotted to your daily happenings.
  • Be kind to yourself, try not to worry and take time to relax each and every day.
  • Get help. You do not have to tackle your day alone; call on others to assist you.
  • Incorporate exercise into your daily routine.

Fashioning a positive pattern of behavior and expecting the best that you can give to each and every day is such an imperative manner in which to conduct your time. This practice takes effort, determination and patience. Don’t waste a moment; utilize each one to the very paramount of your ability and live the life you love. The bottom line is life is too short not to.

Sharon, balance is so important in the many areas of our lives and if you look around it seems like hardly anyone is balancing them all out. Your overview gives us the guidelines to do that and if we take care of ourselves FIRST then we can reach out to the world and help others. A very good post!!

Hi Sharon, I will need to practice taking care of me first, and not worrying about what other people think - when it comes to my clients.  Other than that - I think I'm good with your list, and agree with you, that balance in our lives is so important and we are the only ones that can do that for us. Great ideaas to think about!

I feel fairly balanced, for the most part, it is something I work at, by learning to say NO.  Your pointers however, speak to the part of me that has little balance. routine!  I am not a routinized person at all, though I accomplish much more when I have one. One of the downsides of being self-employed, nobody to say, you must ___________ by 10:00!!! =o/ ( It's also one of the upsides!)

Sharon - Great Post - I think all self-employed people have trouble with work/life balance.  I do make out a schedule every night for the next day but I forget to put in time for myself.  You are right life is too short.

I already exercise daily, so I have that one down pat. As for a daily routine, I have things that I do daily, but none of my days are routine.

I find the list really helps to keep me on track and give a sense of accompliment at the end of the day.  Delegating or asking for help is one of my biggest challenges. Thank you for the important reminder to seek balance in our lives.
