What should I write about in my blog? Great tip!!

Mortgage and Lending with Sunstreet Mortgage

I attended the Active Rain workshop in Scottsdale yesterday and one of the most often posed questions to Brad Andersohn is "What should I write about in my blog?" His answer was to check you email and this will give you ideas. So, I did and came up with this email from my friend Charilie Brandes at Advantage Credit of Colorado.

I often get asked for a secured credit card vendor for clients that should open a new card to improve their FICO score. Now that home prices make the payments very affordable and the first time home buyer tax credit getting ready to expire, there are many renters out there looking to purchase a home that need score improvement.

Also our credit tools often suggest that a new credit card would boost the scores.

For a link to Public Savings Bank from our website please go to http://advcredit.com/consumers/consumer_credit_information.html

They have a card presently with no annual fee and 0% interest for a period of time.

I hope this is helpful

Sandy - This is an interesting tip.  I just started working with womeone who has a good job, good money, but 0 credit history.  He lives at home and pays cash for everything.  The lender I am working with recommended he get one of the utility bills transferred to his name and start paying 'rent' to his parents with a check.  This might be helpful as well.

Thanks for the tip. Knowing how to help boost someones credit score, could create a Buyer where previously there wasn't hope.

Hi Erik,

It sounds like you are on the right track. Some local banks might even consider doing a loan for someone like your client with enough down payment and good job history. Those banks that service their own loans make their own rules. Best of luck! Sandy

That's a great place to get ideas, the e-mail. I hadn't thought about it but you're right, sometimes there are some gems there. By the way, Advantage Credit is a great company to work with. You can always reach someone and they can always solve my problem. Good information.

Yeah,

I like the "check your e-mail" for something to write about as well. Nice post. See what happens when you go to AR meetings?

Hi Sandy - The AR Team always has great ideas for blog topics. For credit scores, you could do a whole series about them. Take a notepad and quickly write down all of the questions people have asked you in the last 2-3 months ... how to improve their score, how late payments or short sales affect scores, how the score affects their mortgage rate, etc.

Hi John,

Thanks for commenting! It made me think of the new Fannie rule on short sales that I can write about. Take care, Sandy
