Have you ever seen the cartoon where some kids are pushing the car from the rear and the others are pushing from the front?
In this case the Kids are the Bankers and the politicians and the car is the national financial situation. Perhaps the Banks and Politicians should remember the old phrase: "All for one and one for all"... If you ask me, our society has a a tumor and this tumor is growing like a cancer from within.
The Cancerous greed as evolved into a "The heck with others I want it all" type of mentality. These Bankers have a bottom line mentality and they can only care for the self serving scenario of "What;s in it for me" thinking.
The politicians say they are trying to get the mortgage credit flowing again, the bankers say they are lending, but they are dealing with smoke and mirrors. The truth is they are not lending, or not lending very much. Credit must be impeccable and then the underwriters are doing everything they can NOT to make new mortgages. Only 3% of loans are being approved fro new mortgages.
Taxes are going higher, cost of heating fuel is rising, Insurance rates has risen to astronomical and historical levels. This country is in a tail spin. Without a course correction we Will never recover from the death spiral we are in...
What can we do except keep the politicians from jamming an unwanted health care package down our throats and the Bankers from making historically high bonuses and laughing all the way to the bank. The joke is on us. But we are the only ones that can make things change.
It is time for us to say "Whoa... stop the wagon, I want to get off" And the fight, scream and yell until we can get something done to change the way our country is going... Into oblivion.
It's time to stop pushing and pulling against one another and all of us as American citizens start working together. Before it is too late... How dumb are we? It is time to recognize we gotta stand up and treat this cancer.
