The area is great!  The Kettering's have been a big part of this for years.  Virginia Kettering, Eugene's wife, was a very smart woman, but stubborn.  Eugene was Charle's son.  She also contributed a lot to the community.  Moraine Country Club (which is in Kettering) used to be an all girls school untilit burnt down--I can't remember the year.  Colonel Deeds also had a big stake in the community as well as the Rike's and Beerman's.  Did you know that Colonel Deed's had bears in the reservoir at Stroop and Southern Blvd?  There is so much rich history about Kettering!!!  If you would like to get more information about some of the history, I can give you a name who knew some of these people as well.  I loved Mrs. Kettering--until she got too demanding--I wish I had taken the time to ask her more about the history.  She had a lot of stories to tell!!!  Did you know that Mrs Kettering raised a crow?  Or that she had a parrot, (I think--some kind of bird), when she took over a wing at Kettering Hospital when she was too ill to live alone?  She absolutely loved my mom's zuchinni bread, until she couldn't eat nuts anymore.  I learned a lot of the history when I worked at Moraine Country Club, actually, I grew up on the golf course.  A lot of knowledge for the area came from the members there and they have played a big part in the development of Kettering.  So many interesting stories--some of which I can't repeat!!  You should do a big story on the top people for the actual development of Kettering.  What part of Kettering is in Greene County--I never knew that!
