I love it! I have always believed that I am a true optimist! It's great to get into a group of people that stay positive. In this industry you have to be but in day to day life other people seem to get away with being negative.
I am sure that the other members of the group have heard of "The Secret". I was a true optimist long before "The Secret" came out but the book/movie did clarify a couple of things for me as an Optimist:
1. Stay away from negative people. As an optimist I have always stayed positive but I kept people in my life that dragged me down and the more I tried to help them the more I realized they did not want to be helped. Not anymore, I have worked hard to extricate myself from people that didn't have a positive effect on me and my family. It sounds ruthless but I have seen a tremendous decrease in OPD (Other People's Drama).
2. Make sure you have visible, documented Goals and a Visionboard. As much as we all think we know exactly what our Goals and Visions are sometime we forget about them. If we see them every day, even if it is subconsciously they are going to be there! I like to try to switch up the placement so it doesn't become mundane.
