Fun Run 6 for Charities - Red Lodge, Montana

The above photo was taken from the Red Lodge 2009 Fun Run poster.

The run is organized every year by the Red Lodge Area Community Funds to raise money for non-profit organizations based in Red lodge.  This year's Fun Run will help 37 different community non-profit organizations including two that I regularly volunteer for: The Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County and Carbon County Habitat for Humanity.

Some of the other non-profit organization that it supports which I am fond of are the Beartooth Cupboards Food Bank, the Beartooth Hospital Foundation, Beartooth Humane Alliance (from which I have adopted my lovely dog Jester), Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery, Carbon County Historical Society and Museum, Red Lodge Public Schools Foundation and Red Lodge Volunteer Firefighters Association.

This year's Fun Run (10K run, 5K run, 2-mile fun walk, toddler trot) in Red Lodge took place on Saturday, September 5, 2009.

Gerry, My kids just pulled out my old running shirts and this would have been a great addition. To bad my knees went out 25 years ago or I might have still been running 5 miles a day =(
Wishing you a great holiday,
Paul

Hi Gerry - Just joined your new moose group.  Just you and me so far.  I think it's easier just to follow your blog subscription.

Paul,

Thank you for the for the nice comment and wish.  I like the logo too and thought to expand on the criteria for moose Monday to allow others to participate (in states and provinces where actual moose sightings are rare or non existent).   Sorry to hear about your knees.  5 miles a day is impressive.   I am sure that made your heart very strong.  They thought of everyone for the Fun Run as for those concerned with doing an exercise with having less impact on those knees, they could still participate by doing a 2-mile fun walk.

Marc,

Thank you for being the first to join the Moose Monday group.   You are correct to say it is easier to just follow me on my blog subscription.  I wanted to have a place where I could gather all the moose posts so it would be easier for people to find them by gathering all in one place.

I like that...the "toddler trot" getting everybody in on the festivities is a great idea! As is your "everybody in" on Moose Monday! I'll check it out when we return from vacation, maybe with my own moose captures! Best of luck with your new group!

Cheryl,

Thank you for your kind words.  This is the first group I have created in AR.  I hope you will get some moose photos and I will a post of yours on here.   You are one of the first members on AR who wowed me with quality photos.

Have a great vacation and congratulations on reaching the 100,000 points milestone!!!

Debra,

You're welcome.  I look forward to seeing an Alaskan moose or two after hunting season is over.   I enjoyed the one covered with snow on his face (priceless facial expression): Nature & Marketing Contest Make Your Move Now!

I also like mother moose and his two babies: Speechless Sunday Moose in the Yard Homer Alaska

If you're going to put shosies on those meese, it sure better be a fun run because I think it's going to go rather slow.
