Columbus Ga, Ft Benning, Phenix City, all are fortunate to have access to the Chattahoochee River. This rings particularly true for local fishing enthusiasts. On the Georgia side of the Hooch is a wonderful 12 mile long River Walk that strectches from Ft Benning to North Columbus.
This fishing spot is located right next to the VFW. Park up top, grab a rod and reel or your favorite cane Pole, tie on a worm and press your luck. Or go up the street a few hundred yards and put in your boat at Rotary Park.
From this public boat landing at Rotary Park you could take a long boat ride all the way to the Gulf. If you don't want to spend that much time on the water, take a walk or have lunch at the adjoining park.
Easy access from the Columbus, Ironworks Convention and Trade Center.
This is the same spot as above, but facing North. The Railroad Bridge is still in use and the Dillingham Bridge.
Fish, bicycle, roller skate, walk or just sit around the Columbus Ga River Walk.
The River Walk is a fantastic place to enjoy the day or a lunch hour.
