I just read where somebody was wondering if it's safe to be a Realtor. Let me tell you my story....I was showing one of my marina listings out here on Bethel Island when I slipped and fell and went into the water with a VERY big client of mine watching. I was unconscious, he had to help me out, my seller ran to me with a towel, the wife in a panic, but I shook it off and said I was okay. I wound up showing another 5 commercial properties to the same clients that day, soaking wet, no shoes, one earring...did I mention that it was a little chilly that day? Then I came back to my office, sat outside to warm up, talking on the phone with my head down. My broker drove up, got out of his car and told me "move along" thinking I was some homeless person. When he saw it was me he could not stop laughing!!! That night I wound up in the hospital with a pretty bad concussion, it took a lot out of me. I did NOT get that sale that day. Darn it!!!
THEN a few months later I was "videoing" a house/neighborhood for some clients who were in Israel, when a woman asked me what I was doing. I told her, showed her my little flip camera, when she tried to steal it away from me. I took it back, she hammered me with her fist, I lost three teeth, but got the camera back! Best part of all that? The dentist is now an investor client of mine....
Moral of the story...keep on going and have a GREAT sense of humor! But if anyone dare says that being a REALTOR is a cush job, I'm going to clobber them and send them for a swim....
