I took the course in April 2009 and it is well worth the time and money.  The information is well presented and easy to understand.  The course gives you everything you need to assist your clients to close a successful shortsale.

I did have a SS listing shortly after completing however it didn't close.  I would take the course for the information and the education it will give you.

I received direct listing and contact with Loss Mitigator for a commercial property and I am sure it was because I explained the CDPE designation adn its benefits to the lender, seller and future buyer.

This was the best program I have taken for the money by far.  The web site access you get is great.  Up to date advice from Agent's around the country who are actively working short sales.

I took this course and got my designation last August (08). It was one of the best courses I ever took and also one of the best investments.  In metro Detroit where I am located nearly 85% of the sales are bank owned or short sales.  If you can't manage a short sale you might as well not be in the business!! I have had 11 short sale listings this year, 6 are sold and closed, 4 more are sold and 1 is approved.  I would not have had this business if it weren't for the knowledge that I recieved from the Distressed Property Institue.  I wouldn't think twice about this class.  I took it a second time this past spring!!

I tookthe course and found it to be the best of 3 I've taken.  I took a listing within a few days after completing it, got an accepted offer on it within 24 hours and was told by Chase that the file was complete at submission.  Some of the literature I received in the course helped convince the owner to do a short sale instead of a foreclosure, which they had been told was no different on their credit than a short sale.  Also, this property was within 2 weeks of a scheduled trustee's sale at the time I took the listing and we were able to get it delayed indefinitely upon submission of the package.

Silvia,

Not only did I complete the course and feel now that I can really help my clients but it was the best in 2 different programs I tried.

This course and membership in the program is ongoing learning. As a forum reader daily I learn how to deal with certain problems that occur during the process where someone has solved the problem before me!

The training materials and the monthly webinars for staying updated with new requirements from FHA or Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac is also very helpful. I have upgraded to the Advanced Program and the benefits are well worth the fee. The microsites are helping me drive business to my site. Check it out at www.StopForeclosureinBrevard.com and see the professional website created for me. CDPE created the site and update it monthly with new information.

Now to answer your question about have I created new business from the certification? The answer is YES.

Congratulations on making the decision to become a CDPE!

I agree with everyone, it is one of the best courses out there. What I love most about it is the level of integrity, continuing education and commitment that is provided to the (CDPE) members - which we in turn must provide to our clients.

I had a slow start, but my designation has definitely earned me a listing and a client whom I coached through a loan modification has sent me two buyer referrals.

Good luck!
