President George W. Bush is booed and heckled by Democrats at his 2005 State of the Union address.

House Democrats seized on House rules Thursday to demand South Carolina Rep. Joe Wilson offer a high-profile apology to President Obama for shouting, "You lie," during the president's health care address.

Democrats have threatened to censure Wilson absent such an apology. With a leadership meeting set for Thursday afternoon, it is possible they will discuss it and introduce such a measure next week even though House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had said that was not being talked about.

Wilson called the White House shortly after Obama's speech to say he was out of line. The White House said the apology was accepted.

Was he out of line, YES! But he has apologized to the president. I remember no coverage of the Democrats apologizing to Bush in 2005.

Hypocrites!!!

Terry, you need to do some checking before you take what that loser Hannity has to say as fact.  Here is an excerpt from the BBC article cited by him:

Throughout the 53-minute speech, many of the president's points were met with loud applause and standing ovations.

But the first half of Mr Bush's speech focused on domestic policy - and this is where he received loud heckles from some members of Congress.

Nowhere in the article does it say DEMOCRATS heckled him.  But putting that aside, there is a clear difference between heckling the president and call him a liar, which we all know bush was!

Hypocrites!

The only difference is they are in control of congress now, and the senate and the white house.

"Was he out of line, YES!" Terry, I make no apologies for his behavior unlike libs who want to make excuses why it's different. Both were inappropriate and not to see that, makes my point perfectly....

It was democrats Terry.

It has also been democrats who have been ridiculing the American people who oppose this plan. It was also Obama who chose to make unnecessary comments about Sarah Palin.

The rules should be the same for all.

In Obama's own words he said that if anyone was spreading misinformation that they would call them on it. Isn't that what Wilson did??

Terry, how is what you said about Bush any different than what Joe said during the speech? If I were there I would have done the same thing. And I wouldn't have apoligized. I have a feeling you would too, only to Bush. This is a country that is becoming unrecognizeable and Joe is simply expressing that.

The administration and legislative majority want to make the issue Wilson's timing while avoiding the veracity of his claim.

On what planet are they spending most of their time?   Since when is it even a remote possibility, much less a LIKELY one, that those who have disregarded the laws for entering this country are going to abide by a clause that says they're not supposed to get access to federal funds for healthcare?  Particularly when there's staunch opposition to any verification of eligibility?

Someone needed to call Obama what he is...What Wilson should really have said was..."Mr. President, Did you actually read the bill? Did any of the liberals who are appauding your speech, even read it? How do you say everyone is wrong but you when you did not even bother to read your own bill?

And no apologies from me....

I love it! When you turn the tables on the libs, and use their tactics to dissent, they cry like children who don't always get their way!
