We need a long sustained period of low mortgage rates to get this inventory sold. There are still too many short sales overhanging the market, and it wqill be awhile moving they off the market, so low rates will help do this, and it appears the Treasury Dept. are committed to this task.
Yes, the timing of the rate drop is working out perfectly for all of the first-timers planning to buy before November 30th.
