A Old Life Skill Rejuvenated

I spend a lot of time trying keep up with the everyday demands of work and being a mother and wife, and like most of you I find myself stressed and left off the things to do list.  Therefore, in the last week I have started taking care of myself so I can be more effective and enjoy life.  One of my biggest problems is my mind is always racing so I have started keeping a journal and writing down my concerns and worries, and then I leave them there before I go to bed.   "Studies have shown that journaling reduces stress levels and helps people put their lives in perspective."

I am sure a lot of you do this now but for me it has always been a waste of time or so I thought.  Anyway, my point is just to remind everyone; that it's the little things that make a difference.

Tammy -  that reminds me of the story about the 'Worry Tree' and the father who hung his worries on the tree outside his front door when he came home each evening and he always found that they were gone the next morning :0)  Writing things down allows them to leave your conscious mind to give you some peace.  No mind chatter.

Personally, I like to concentrate on all that is good in my life and keep a Gratitude Journal.  When times are tough, it is so calming to re-read earlier pages.  I find I attract more positive when I concentrate on positive.  The Secret maybe?  :0)

Susan.....I love the idea of the worry tree! That's neat! I also keep a journal....it's of succsss stories. I only write in it once the "problem" has been resolved. I find it motivating, especially when there are situations which have occured in the past and been handled and fixed.
