defining success

By
Real Estate Agent with Exit IH 10 Realty

Some agents define success in dollars, others in tranactions closed. Some move lead counts and others look at only the front leads in, conversion rates, appt set as a way to close their mind on a successful day, week or month.

At the opposite end I will hear agents talk about time with family and god as their top priorities. Rarely, I am seeing the success measured in all three catagories.

What is it that I measure myself with god on a daily basis. How while I be the best father and husband today. What are my production goals. Ask someone that you really like (alot) what are their goals today? Then ask yourself how good of a friend you are them?

Well we definately all do have our own opinion on this subject.  Personally I believe that we have to guage both our personal success and our professional success seperately.  Then if we can look atthe overall package, we will know in our hearts if we have been a success or not - and certainly once we have failed does not mean that we can't go back and succeed the next time...or the time after that.

You are right Rick.  You learn a lot about a person by simply asking them "How do you define success?"  It is amazing the answers you get and for some who cannot even give you an answer because they have not even thought about it.  When I am training and teaching I always tell the attendees...you must first determine your "WHY" for doing what you are doing.  If you do not know the "WHY" the rest is irrelevant!  Looking forward to seeing you in DC!!!  Take care!

The "Wheel of LIfe" or Balance it seems that you have described.  If we don't look at the whole picture and gauge them together, then the balance may get away from you.  My "wheel" tends to fluctuate in its balance.  I need to do a better job of looking at my balance and daily goals.... Daily...
