Welcome, Marti Coates to Active Rain

I'd like to tell you a little bit about Marti Coates!  Marti was our realtor when we purchased our home in San Jose, CA 25 years ago.  When we began getting our house ready to sell I naturally thought of Marti...she made such an impression 25 years ago that I'd never forgotten.

You see when we first decided on our home it was in great shape..by the time escrow closed the husband and two sons had moved a motorcycle into the family room to work on it.  You can imagine what the carpet looked like.  Yes, oil and grease all over the carpet as well as the rest of the house.  It was awful what they did in 30 short days.

I cried when I saw it...not Marti!  She called in her miracle workers...a cleaning lady, carpet shampooer and window washer.  By the time we were ready to move in our boxes the house was sparkling and all set to go.

You just can't forget something like that..and in case you didn' t figure it out..she paid for it too!

So, this time around, Marti has worked tirelessly with  marketing our property, helping with staging the house, open houses... we have four offers in and a possible 5th...and I know it's through the efforts of this wonderful friend and realtor!

Thank you, Marti and Welcome!

Hi Alisa,  Good post, so here's your first comment.  While I'm at it, how are you feeling about HVCC?  I've been blogging on AR, trying to get people to contact their senators.  There's an amendment in the Consumer Finance Act of 2009 that could kill HVCC, but we need people to contact their senators.

HI Gregg,

Sorry I missed your comment on my post....Thanksgiving just kind of took over!  You must know I'm opposed to the HVCC and what it has done to my business. Even though I think it could have been a move in the right direction it did not have the right affect and has done more hard than good.  I will be happy to check out the Consumer Finance Act of 2009 and forward.  I recently moved to Huntsville TX and so am not a registered voter yet but still every voice should count and I will register as soon as I meet residency requirements.  Thanks for the comments about it.   That said, do you think the lenders will drop the AMC part of it if it goes away? I am not sure they will...and doesn't the HVCC  have a twilight clause that cancels it as of July 2010?  I think the AMC's are here to stay..don't like it but still think the banks will keep using them.
